Ricker, our pet (stuffed) raccoon, caused all sorts of trouble at the Eisenhower home. Though I am just now getting around to mentioning him, Ricker joined us on our journey to all 50 states. He collected his own album of photos and more often that not I was the one that had the priviledge of holding him up for these photo opportunities. He was only fickle in a few locations...Eisenhower's home was one of them. I had him all set for his photo when a tour group came barreling out of the house scaring him and leaving me looking foolish. Needless to say, he regained composure and we snapped the photo...eventually.

An Artistic Drive
Who knew the rest stops in Nebraska would provide us with an artistic experience? Both years as we drove along Interstate 80, we stopped to check out art. My favorite piece is pictured below. During our drive, we also passed under the Great Platte River Road Archway Monument at Kearney on both trips. Regrettably, we didn't stop to further explore it. I did find a stunning photo via google though!

I've never been to Nebraska, but my husband and I had to drive through Kansas on our honeymoon. We lived in Missouri at the time, and we were going to Colorado...which meant we had to drive through Kansas the long way. East KS is pretty, but West KS? Booooooring! We didn't stop much though, since we were on a mission!
