Happy Valentine's Day!!
In honor of this holiday, I want to share with you my thoughts on the true meaning of LOVE!

LOVE is...
...a boyfriend who has your whole heart...even if he's three hours away...for now. This quote pretty much sums it up: "Long distance relationships are for those who are willing to spend a lot of time alone in exchange for a little time with the one they love. It's for those that know a good thing when they see it, even if they don't see it nearly enough."
...a mom and dad that support and encourage you no matter what the circumstances...and that are thoughtful enough to send fun treats even if you are almost 30...yay!!
...a brother that brings his newborn daughter to the airport over an hour away just so you can meet her for the first time THAT much sooner.
...a brother that lets you borrow his car when you come home even if it makes things a tad more difficult for him...or better yet, drives you all over the tri-state area when he surely has better things to do.
...a friend that takes your call in the middle of the night and really listens.
...a boyfriend that wants the absolute best for you. He is happy when you are happy, upset when you are upset, and hurt when you are hurt.
...a dad who painted your nails with the coolest designs when you were a little girl.
...a mom who taught you the importance of family history.
...a fellow blogger that leaves comments when they read a post they enjoy.
...a friend that runs a race with you much slower than her normal pace, encouraging and motivating you with each step.
...a boyfriend that wants you to meet all his friends.
...a group of that boyfriend's friends that accept you as one of their own...no questions asked.
...being an aunt to the most amazing little girl in the world...and her soon-to-be-born baby brother!
...a friend that understands how sometimes life just gets in the way.
...a community that is excited to see you when you come back to visit.
...having two brothers safely protecting all your secrets.
...a friend that not only offers to house you (and your parents) at their apartment in Paris during a vacation, but also has dinner ready when you arrive from the train.
...a stranger who holds the elevator for you.
...a relative that calls you out of the blue, wants to know all about what you've been up to lately, and has a genuine interest in your well-being...and you know it.
...a friend that prays for you.
...a boyfriend that always lets you know how important you are to him, how proud he is of you, and how excited he is to move forward with your life together.
...a friend that can pick right back up where they left off no matter how long it has been.
...anyone that calls to wish you a happy birthday!
...a mom and dad that always sacrificed themselves for your benefit...and still do.
...a grandparent who would have done absolutely anything for you without hesitation...and now watches over you from Heaven.
...God. I am so very thankful for his gift of Jesus Christ and the meaning He brings to my life every single day.
1 Corinthians 13:4:7 says...
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
I hope you ALL have a wonderful day celebrating LOVE with the people who have shown you its true meaning. And if that isn't possible for you...because, unfortunately, it's not for me...celebrate with them when you get the chance and do something fun for YOU today instead! That's my plan!!
Andrea :)
