Our Honeymoon: Exploring Venice

Before heading off on our Murano and Burano tour, we briefly explored the St. Mark's Basilica area.

We also had some lunch there.  I tried some yummy arccini.  And we couldn't pass up an opportunity for some tasty gelato!  Yum!

Since our cruise was set for an evening departure, we had a full morning to explore Venice before we made our way to the boat terminal.  We decided the best way to see it all was to take the water taxi that runs the full length of the Grand Canal.

Unfortunately, we weren't the only ones that had this idea.  It was super crowded, but it did turn out to be a great way to get some wonderful photos of Venice.

I was fascinated with the Realto Bridge.  We walked across it the night before when we went out for our fancy Venetian dinner, but I was excited to see it in the daylight.

After we made it to the end of that taxi line, we headed back toward our hotel to retrieve our luggage and make our way to the cruise ship.  We made sure to stop at the gelato shop Christina recommended to us on our way back to the hotel.  And I am so glad that we did.  It was THE best gelato I have ever tasted.  I had pear.

It was the perfect way to end our time in Venice...

Andrea :)
